The Embassy of the Republic of Fiji in Seoul participated in the 33rd Korea World Travel Show (KOTFA) 2018 from 14 – 17 June 2018.
The only travel show that is supported by both the international tourism bodies including the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), PATA, and JATA as well as local official tourism organisations in Korea namely, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea Tourism Organization, Visit Korea Committee, and Grand Korea Leisure.
2018 KOTFA Seoul attracted hundreds of visitors and potential tourists to Fiji who visited the booth to enquire on Fijian culture, lifestyle, accommodation and resorts, and holiday destinations within Fiji, studying English, opportunities for business and investment potential and followed–up on general queries relating to Fiji as a holiday destination.
The Embassy was awarded an appreciation award to mark the Mission’s efforts to promote Fiji tourism as a holiday destination through its participation in the 33rd KOTFA Seoul. The Embassy gave away several promotional items including, mini Fiji Water bottles, Fiji tourism designed maps, and brochures in the Korean language in its public relations (PR) efforts.
In its 33rd year, the event marked the participation of 500 companies, the Embassy promoted Fiji alongside sixty (60) other countries and their respective national tourism agencies namely, Nepal, Bangladesh, Greece, Cambodia, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Palau, Guam, Japan – Okinawa, Sri Lanka, India – Andhra Pradesh, Hong Kong, China, Macao, The Fiji booth displayed Fijian artifacts and wall images and also played videos of Fiji, showcasing the natural beauty and pristine environment that Fiji offered to travelers.
The Embassy will continue to endeavor to promote Fiji as a tourism destination in South Korea.
