GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF FIJI ISSUES
REQUEST FOR TENDER TO UPGRADE, OPERATE AND
MAINTAIN THE LAUTOKA AND BA HOSPITALS

The Government of the Republic of Fiji (‘Government’) aims to augment the healthcare
infrastructure at 305 bed Lautoka divisional hospital and the new 70 bed Ba sub-divisional
hospital (‘Project Hospitals’) located in the Western Division of the Republic of Fiji through
private sector participation (‘Project’). The Project will involve contracting with a private
entity to develop, finance, upgrade, operate and maintain the Project Hospitals.
The scope of the Project includes:
(a) upgrading and improving the delivery of health services at the Project Hospitals;
(b) delivering training programs to up-skill local staff; and
(c) sourcing medical practitioners from overseas markets to address the issue of specialist staff
The Government through the Ministry of Economy now invites interested companies and/or
consortia (‘Bidders’) to participate in the tender process. The selected bidder will partner
with the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), which is the sole superannuation fund in the
Republic of Fiji, to implement the Project.
Request for Tender (‘RFT’):
The RFT includes the detailed terms and conditions for qualification of Bidders, bid
submission and selection of a Bidder. Interested entities can download the RFT from

18 July 2018 in Singapore and 19 July 2018 in Sydney (Australia) followed by a pre-bid conference
and site visit in the Republic of Fiji on 31 July 2018. Further details of the venue and time of the
