FIJI MISSION WELL-PRESENTED AT TOURISM EXPO IN BUSAN
The Fiji embassy Seoul participated in KOTFA (Korea World Travel Fair)’s19th Busan International Travel Fair in Busan city, Sothern Korea as a continuing effort since 2013 to increase Korean tourists and to promote the exotic Fijian culture.
“I am so grateful to support the Fiji Mission here in Busan for the tour expo. I believe this continuing promotion event will not only increase public awareness of Fiji but also attract many tourists to Fiji. This opportunity will also show how the people of Busan enjoy the Fijian atmosphere and get impressed how beautiful real Fiji is.” Honorary Consul for Busan, Mr. Ho-Young Yeom said.
Many people were caught by the Fijian booth which was tropically and traditionally decorated and enjoyed the atmosphere of Fiji. Korean travel TV show in Fiji was also played to give lively information to the visitors.
This year’s Busan Travel Expo was even more special in terms of the promotional event. Paradise Bio Sugar donated 250 packages of Fiji law sugar to distribute to visitors. The event for free Fiji sugar distribution was successful to introduce Fiji products.
“I thank Fiji Embassy Seoul for their full support and assistance that we have received. We wish to have more opportunities to work closely with the Mission in the future. I also hope that Fiji law sugar will gain popularity in Korean market sooner or later.” Mr. Jeong-Hoon, Kim from PBS said.
The embassy has been attending KOTFA’s tour exhibition since 2013 and continued putting efforts to help promote Tourism Fiji. The statistic shows by Korea Tourism Organization, that from January to July, there are 4,475 Koreans have gone to Fiji.
The Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA), the organizer has its 30 years history since 1986, the largest international travel fair in Korea where over 70countries and 500 tourism-related firms with 550 setting up the booth.
According to The KOTFA organizer, the expo hit over 900,000 visitors during the four-day event from September 09 to 12, 2016.
