Fijian students in Korea Receive Stipend assistance

Fijian students studying in South Korea received stipend assistance from Booyoung Group, a Korean construction conglomerate on Wednesday, 24th August.

Three university students from Fiji studying in Korea had undergone a competitive selection process to receive the above assistance from Booyoung Group.

These included undergraduate student Sunia Loga from Kosin University in Busan, Akuila Sovanivalu, majoring in master’s degree in community development at Yonsei University and PhD student at Mokpo National University, Patrick Mark Singh.

The Fijian students were among 100 other students from 13 countries in Asia, Africa and the Pacific to receive stipend assistance for their daily academic subsistence for studies in South Korea.

The Booyoung Foundation Chairman and company founder Dr. Lee Joong-Keun assured his company’s continued support foreign students who are studying in Korea to help achieve their dreams and encouraged the recipients of stipend assistance to devote their quality time for their studies as they will be future leaders of their country and become global leaders.

Charge d’ Affairs a.i. Mr. Joreti Dakuwaqa from Fiji Embassy in Korea thanked the Booyoung Group and its Woojung Education and Cultural Foundation for its continued support and assistance to the Fijian students studying in South Korea and also expressed his deep appreciation to the Booyoung Group on behalf of the Fijian Government and people of Fiji for its earnest support towards building human resource development for tertiary Fijian students in South Korea.

The new student Mr. Akuila Sovanivalu expressed his gratitude to the Fiji Embassy in Korea for its support in securing the financial assistance for students.

Booyoung Group has established its education arm, Woojung Education and Cultural Foundation in 2008 and focuses on construction to support global human resource development.
