The Fiji Embassy Seoul participated in the 1st Korea International Tourism Show in KINTEX after winning first Olympic gold in Rio to promote its tourism and to increase public awareness.
The Korea International Tourism Show was held from 18th to 21st in North, near the border of North Korea, Ilsan City to promote Tourism Fiji. It was the first for the Mission to join Korea International Tourism Show Committee in order to continue putting efforts for promoting Fiji not only tourism and culture but also sports sector in conjunction with the Olympic first gold medal in rugby.
The Mission’s Public Relations Officer Ms. Soyeon Kim received lots of congratulation messages from Korean visitors on victory of rugby game in Rio Olympic. Koreans acknowledged Fiji rugby 7 teams’ outstanding performance against England and gave cheerful encouragement.
The Korea International Show 2016 was an additional channel for the Fiji Mission to promote beautiful landmarks in Fiji by handing out Tourism Fiji brochures and introduction of well-known resorts and activities. The tropically decorated Fiji booth was set up to show visitors the Pacific Countries’ atmosphere and give some thoughts of real Fiji via presenting Fijian made products as well as traditional artifacts.
The organizer of the Korea International Tourism Show host 18 foreign countries and over 70 local governments and 250 tourism-related firms. It was the first time for the host to hold such a huge tourism expo however the host and organizations of Korea International Tourism Show 2016 presented a one-stop tourism business place and out-bounded contents on culture and medical, beauty tourism business to create tourism industry clusters and add to the value.
According to the secretariat, the Tourism Show hit over 15,000 people per day and received even more during the weekend about 20,000 visitors for Saturday and Sunday respectively.
