H.E. Ambassador Filimone Kau delivered welcome remarks during the “Friends of GGGI” luncheon on Tuesday 5 September 2017, at 12:00 at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul. The event was attended by fourteen (14) Ambassadors of accredited countries to the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) along with invited guests and members of the GGGI Secretariat.
The event was organised to discuss GGGI’s key achievements and milestones and also provided insight on future strategy, goals and events of GGGI, including GGG Week 2017.
Ambassador Kau thanked GGGI for their work in assisting developing countries in their implementation of green growth strategies and embedding of green growth principles into their development plan.
“We in developing countries also continue to rely on the GGGI to advocate and support our implementation process particularly in securing development financing” he said.
GGGI is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. Established in 2012, at the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, GGGI assists countries to adopt sustainable practices and align with sustainable development policies to transition toward a new model of economic growth to achieve economic growth.
